Other Post Asma Younus Meet the Team: Meg Thornley Friday means another opportunity to meet the team! Meg has worked at Indiespring for six and a half years. Her role usually centres around annoying the other developers as she tries to break the things they make! We managed to pin her down for a quick 60 second chat: What I do now… Quality Assurance Engineer. I’m the first port of call for some of our products before we send them out to clients and the rest of the world. What I wanted to do when I was younger… I think I wanted to be a horse? Either that, or a singer in a rock-band; I grew up on Joan Jett and Pat Benatar. My hidden talent is… I’m training to be a person-centred counsellor in my spare time, because mental health is something that’s really important to me. What I love about Indiespring… The room I’ve been given to grow – I started at Indiespring at 18 years old, and I’ve always been given the space I need to figure myself and my personal goals out. I’ve even been given the support and training to become a Mental Health Advocate within the business – I’m really happy that we’re making the mental health of everyone working here a priority and that I get to be a part of that. My chosen celebratory displate*… The anarchist cult classic Fight Club – “I say never be complete, I say stop being perfect, I say let’s evolve, let the chips fall where they may.” Indiespring in one word… Trust Connect with Meg on LinkedIn: Connect with Meg Interested in joining the team? Follow our LinkedIn page and watch out for our latest vacancies. *What is a celebratory displate? At Indiespring, we’re big on traditions to unite our teams together. When a new employee joins and passes probation, as a celebration they choose a displate that represents a movie, game, tv show etc. that they love or means something to them and it is added to our displate wall of fame. It’s a great way to learn more about each other, share our interests and to celebrate our various passions.
